Built to Lloyd's A1 scantlings, this Pretorien 35 is a fine example of the high quality vessels produced by the Wauquiez yard in France. Over 200 hand-laid hulls were produced over a decade, this very popular design is a solidly built cruiser made for ocean passagemaking. With a 46% ballast ratio, she is a stiff and powerful boat.
Able to perform well in any conditions, the Pretorien 35 really shows her true colours in rough conditions. She excels to windward and reaches effortlessly at 6 to 7 knots. The reverse transom provides the benefit of a longer waterline for added hull speed, and the large skeg-hung rudder, mounted well aft, delivers powerful steering control when conditions get heavier.
Well appointed for short-handed sailing and many of her sisterships have sailed around the world either single-handed or two-handed. The current owner has owned her for nine years and has done major upgrades of almost everything on board while cruising Tasmania extensively single-handed. S/V More Magic has a functional galley to starboard near the companionway and a navigation station opposite. In the saloon, the drop-leaf table and saloon settees seat up to six people comfortably. The bathroom is forward to starboard behind the forward double V-berth cabin. Aft to port is a second double cabin, complete with lockable door for privacy. Recently slipped, antifouled and topside polished, S/V More Magic is ready to go and take you on your next adventure.
